Understanding customer requirements has always been an essential element to successful software development and the team at XKS has used this skill, combined with its understanding of Retail business processes, to create a range of software solutions, available to run on the iSeries and AS/400 servers.
Development is done on one of the latest IBM servers, which is partitioned with OS/400, Unix (Aix) and Linux operating systems plus has an integrated Windows server, which shares the disk storage, tape device etc.
Typically programming is done using RPG or PHP, with either the DB2 or MySQL databases. Applications would then be accessed using emulation or browser based interface. Information in the database could also be exchanged in various formats - XML, CSV, PDF.
